My prayer is that we follow Jesus together.When Jesus arrived in the villages of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “What are people saying about who the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some think he is John the Baptizer, some say Elijah, some Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” He pressed them, “And how about you? Who do you say I am?” Matthew 16:13-15, The Message I am so glad to begin a new chapter in ministry with Beautiful Savior! I know God will richly bless us with growth, deep in love and broad in service. My prayer is that we follow Jesus together. A simple, short statement. Yet one that opens a world of possibility. Just who is this Jesus that we will follow? And then, given who Jesus is, what does it look like to follow?...... |

Notes on NotesNotes on Notes This Sunday’s special music is “Come, Christians, Join to Sing,” a hymn with lyrics as relevant today as when they were written by Christian Henry Bateman, a new pastor in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1843 – almost 200 years ago! Originally titled “Come, Children, Join to Sing,” the lyrics are simple enough for a child, with a repeated, insistent phrase “Alleluia! Amen!” at the end of every line through the entire song. So even if people didn’t know all the words to the song, at least they could join in on every “Alleluia! Amen!” For example, here is verse 1...... |

Getting to Know You gatheringsPlease sign up for one of the group gathering times with Pastor Annemarie. The purpose of gathering is to help her get to know each and every one of us. Gathering times are as follows: Sundays @11am - grab a goodie and a cup of coffee from the fellowship hall and bring it over. Mondays @Noon - Bring your own brown bag lunch, beverages will be provided. Wednesdays @10am - cookies and coffee will be provided. Wednesdays @6:30pm - dessert will be provided. Choose a day that works best for you from mid-August to mid-November. Gatherings will be an hour to an hour and half long in the Luther Room. The sign-up folder is on a table in the entry way. |

Sunday WorshipWelcome into our community today as we seek to follow the one who gathers us. We gather in the unity of Christ and are all invited to the Lord’s Table. He is the host —we are all guests. We celebrate that Jesus came to us and continues to come to us. In faith we receive the body and blood of our Lord and Savior. We believe that he did this “for you.” We welcome ALL to Communion for it is the Lord’s Table and Jesus’s gift of grace to the world.
