God's radical graceLetter from Pastor Annemarie “...Or are you envious because I am generous?” Grace. Radical grace. God’s grace, by definition, is something we can never get, never earn, never deserve, but only be given. And sometimes that sticks in our craw. In our gospel story for this coming Sunday, Jesus tells a parable. People are not getting what they deserve. I invite you to read this parable sometime in the next few days. It’s found in Matthew 20:1-16. Then notice your initial feelings. Perhaps not your thoughts about it just now, but your initial gut-reaction feelings. And sit with those feelings for a time. Wonder about them. Ask God about them.... A couple seeds for our Follow Me board this week: Where in our society/our local community/your immediate social circle, are you seeing an example of God’s radical grace?..... Notes on NotesNotes on Sunday's Special Music - In This Very Room This Sunday’s choir anthem “In This Very Room” beautifully expresses the reassuring promise that Jesus is with us no matter where we are. Even in your kitchen, workplace, school, grocery store, doctor’s office – every “room” in your life is a place where there is enough love, joy, hope, and power to chase away any gloom because Jesus is in that very room with you. Such a room was Dave and Suzy Shaffer’s living room where the choir gathered in May 2019 to sing this song for Suzy, who was, at that time, only weeks away from dying of breast cancer. That living room became a holy, sacred place where Jesus was the Comforter, Good Shepherd, and Prince of Peace to Suzy and to all of us. We hope that the message of the song will become very real to you as you let the words and gentle melody speak to your heart for whatever “room” you are facing. by Becky Solomon for September 20, 2026 For more infomation visit:
