Following JesusLetter from Pastor Annemarie "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Matthew 22:37-40 This Sunday our Following Jesus series culminates with these great words of Jesus. Love God with your whole self, love your neighbor as yourself. All the ways we follow Jesus boil down to these. God’s whole love given graciously to me and returned fully, God’s love through me to all others. And so, we celebrate Reformation and In-gathering Sunday. Reformation calls us as Church to pause and look inwardly with God’s eyes, seeing ourselves as we truly are. . . In-gathering calls us as the local congregation of Beautiful Savior to pause and look outwardly at the ministries to which God is calling us . . . For more infomation visit:

Notes on NotesNotes on Sunday's Special Music - Jesus Is the Living Stone This week the choir will sing “Jesus Is the Living Stone,” which perfectly expresses the centrality of Jesus as the firm foundation of our faith, and that His blood alone atones for our salvation. As we commemorate the Reformation of the Church, begun in the year 1517, this anthem perfectly describes Jesus as the Rock of our salvation, the Living Stone – solid but also alive and constantly relevant and timeless (“yesterday, today, forever, His love reaches every man”). We also find that Rock theme in the classic German hymn of the Reformation, “Ein feste Burg” (“A Mighty Fortress is Our God”) which Martin Luther composed in the early years of the Reformation, to inspire and teach Bible truths to the German people in their own language. When those people sang hymns together 500 years ago, the experience was exciting, invigorating, and motivating! As we remember those 16th century Christians and the challenges they faced, perhaps we can capture some of their fervor and passion for learning and worshiping together. After all, we have the same Lord who has always been and will always be our Mighty Fortress, the Living Stone. by Becky Solomon for October 25, 2026 |

"Jenny" and Tim presentationNow on YouTube In case you missed TIm Tarris' presentation: Beautiful Savior's Tim Tarris, a retired Air Force fighter pilot, spoke about the US Army Air Corps and the 3/4 scale biplane he built to observe USAAC's 100th anniversary this year. The JN-4 "Jenny" was the basic trainer in World War I. Tim's plan was to fly the replica aircraft to all lower 48 states, arriving in Virginia July 2. His trip was cut short when strong winds lifted and crashed his plane after landing in Colorado. Tim was badly injured but recovered. He and his wife, Vicky, completed the route in their motorhome, going to many of the planned stops. Tim spoke on the USAAC centennial and on his adventures piloting the small aircraft through mountain valleys and challenging conditions in Western states. For more infomation visit:
