A Pastoral Letter for the 250th Anniversary of the United States

Bishop’s Letter

As people across our nation mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, many of us find ourselves reflecting on what this anniversary means.

Anniversaries invite both gratitude and truth-telling.

For some, this milestone arrives with deep pride and celebration. For others, it carries complexity—memories of promises fulfilled unevenly, freedoms experienced differently, and wounds that still remain. For most of us, perhaps, it is both: gratitude mixed with longing, hope mixed with concern.

And perhaps that is exactly where faith belongs.

As Christians, we are people rooted in a story much older than any nation. Long before borders were drawn or constitutions written, God was already gathering people, liberating the oppressed, feeding the hungry, and calling communities to justice, mercy, and love of neighbor....

Saturday, July 18 – Movies that Matter, watch On Wings of Eagles at 2pm in the conference room. This inspiring  2016 film is the true story of Eric Liddell’s glorious life after winning Olympic gold in the 1924 Paris Olympics (Chariots of Fire). Liddell became a missionary to China and was there at the outset of WWll when he and other foreign nationals were taken as prisoners of war and placed in one of the many Japanese internment camps, where Liddell continued to spread his message of hope and faith.

Movies That Matter—an opportunity to watch inspiring films that explore faith, hope, courage, and the challenges of everyday life. Come enjoy an afternoon of fellowship, thoughtful discussion, and films that teach us about life and faith. Everyone is welcome! Movies that Matter will be shown on Saturdays in July at 2pm in the conference room.  July 25 Joseph; Aug 1 Unsung Hero.

Sunday Worship

Sunday Worship

9am in person and livestreamed - Sunday, July 12, 2026

Welcome into our community today as we seek to follow the one who gathers us.
May you feel a connection to the beautiful Savior in worship this day! May you join us in Living in Grace, Love and Action.

We gather in the unity of Christ and are all invited to the Lord’s Table. He is the host —we are all guests. We celebrate that Jesus came to us and continues to come to us.  In faith we receive the body and blood of our Lord and Savior. We believe that he did this “for you.” We welcome ALL to Communion for it is the Lord’s Table and Jesus’s gift of grace to the world.

Join us in-person, on Facebook Live at Beautifulsaviortucson, and on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88641186563   Meeting ID: 886 4118 6563 and Passcode: 188820
