In the blink of an eye we have entered the oldest liturgical season of the church year, dating back to the second century.  The word EPIPHANY means manifestation and the dawning.  We have scripture describing to us who Jesus really is.  A showing forth of the Messiah to us Gentiles.  Let us at Beautiful Savior be present to the many ways God manifests himself to us throughout this season.  I want to leave you with this blessing: 

May you always walk in beauty

May you always rest in love

May you always feel at home

May you never feel alone

Please join me in congratulating Becky Solomon for her lifelong dedication to music ministry and her 23 years of service to the mission and congregation of BSLC. Becky's last service as the pianist for BLSC will be February 15th. It has been a pleasure to work with Becky Solomon since I began as music director in 2022. Becky is the most dedicated church musician that I've had the privilege to work with. The enthusiasm and breadth of experience that Becky has brought to her work over the years is inspiring. I've learned so much about the liturgy and church repertoire from working with her and I've always enjoyed her playing and support in rehearsals and planning. I am sad to lose a partner that has been so supportive in my work but glad to hear that she will stick around as a member of the church. I have no doubt she will be involved as a guest musician and consultant, and you will definitely hear more piano duets and guest appearances!

Sunday, Jan. 11—Join us in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Mark & Mary Mittelstadt during fellowship time in Werner Hall after worship.
 
Sundays—Bible Study after worship. We gather in the Conference Room to continue our study of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible.

Tuesday, Jan. 13—Women’s Bible Study at 9:30am in Werner Hall. All women of any age are invited to join this group. Come enjoy new friends, a snack, and a Bible study.  You may contact Barbara Peterson at 520-222-5160, Cozyteapot2@cox.net if you have any questions.

Tuesday, Jan. 13 & 27—Pint with the People at 6:30pm. Come to Catalina Brewing Company (6918 N Camino Martin), grab a beverage of choice, and settle in for good conversation about faith and life.

Wednesday, Jan. 14—Games Galore at 6pm in Werner Hall. Join us for Board games (not “bored” games!) of all types that will delight and bond us together! 

Friday, Jan. 16—Blankets of Comfort at 1pm in Werner Hall. It’s a new year and new members are welcomed. Join us as we begin a new year of bringing comfort to babies and children in hospitals and Youth on Their Own. We meet at 1:00 p.m. to cut fleece for blankets to be crocheted around and stuff toys made from remnants. Come any time before 3:00p.m. Questions, contact Linda Claasen at 520-561-9711.

Sunday, Jan. 18—Noisy Offering. The children will be passing coffee cans around for you to place loose change and help support the Cup of Cold Water Ministry. Jingle-Jangle! 

Feed My Starving Children—Meal Pack event on Sat. Feb. 7th from 8am-10am at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene (500 W Calle Concordia Oro Valley, AZ 85704). Help assemble nutritious Manna Pack meals specifically designed to assist in reversing and preventing undernutrition for children around the world.
