| In Case of EmergencyLetter from Pastor Tony John 15:12 “This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you.” This past week one of our beloved church members had major knee replacement surgery. We all were praying but the day of the surgery. As the day went on, we waited to hear from her. I received an email late in the afternoon that everything went fine and that she was home recovering. Not everyone received that email and there were several people that were anxiously waiting to hear from her to assure them she got out of surgery ok. When evening came these concerned friends were worried when still no word was heard. They wished they had an emergency contact number to get ahold of her daughter to find out any details. Finally, someone who did receive the email that was sent earlier in the day passed on the message that everything went well. The question came to the church office as to whether or not we have a way of collecting emergency contacts of our members. Do we have a emergency contact form? This form is commonly used to ensure that people are protected and receive the necessary care in case of an emergency. YES! We do! Our computer system has an information page on every member of the church and there is a place to add an emergency contact on every member’s page. The problem is that very few of us have any contacts listed... For more infomation visit:

| Blankets of Comfort, Blessed & Delivered
On Sunday, Sept. 14th, toys and blankets from the Blankets of Comfort ministry were blessed by Pastor Tony and our congregation. Then on Thursday, Sept. 18th, Gigi, Brenda and Linda delivered blankets to Northwest Medical Center Women's Center. They received 40 "preemie" blankets for its NICU patients. Then we went to Youth on Their Own to drop off 20 of our large blankets. Brenda had never been there, so they were so kind to give us a tour of the facility. What a great program. Thank you to everyone who helps put the kits together and to everyone who crochets the blankets edges and puts the toys together! |

| Constitution Review/UpdateVote on changes in October The Council has just approved of the Constitution changes needed to catch up to the changes that were necessary for the ELCA model constitution and also made many changes that we needed to since our congregation has been through many transitions over the years. You can review these changes by requesting the revised constitution from the church office or calling Jenni to get a down-load copy. We will be reviewing the changes at a special Congregation Meeting in October. Per Constitution, we need to allow you 30 days to review the changes before we vote to approve of the changes. Contact anyone on Council for any questions you might have regarding specific changes. Council members: Dick Flones, Andy Anderson, Justin Templin, Craig Fennel, Robin Middleton-Port, Mark Mittelstadt, Mary Speidel and Bill Sisco. |
