Join us for Ash Wednesday worship at 7pm with the imposition of ashes and communion. 

On Ash Wednesday we begin our forty-day journey toward Easter. Marking our foreheads with dust, we acknowledge that we die and return to the earth. At the same time, the dust traces the life-giving cross indelibly marked on our foreheads at baptism.  We humbly pray for God to make our hearts clean while we rejoice that “now is the day of salvation.” Returning to our baptismal call, we more intentionally bear the fruits of mercy and justice in the world.

Starting Sunday February 22 for 5 weeks, in lieu of Lenten services we are providing weekly devotional materials containing the writings of Thomas Merton. The short booklet Bridges to Contemplative Living is perfect for your choice of: 1) personal, private meditation at home; 2) discussion with friends during LLL (fellowship) in Werner Hall after Sunday worship; 3) “Ponder with a Pastor” on Tuesdays at 11am; and/or 4) Share with a prayer partner. The short booklets are available for purchase ($6) in office.
