This past weekend was the 3^rd year after my wife, Carol, passed into the church triumphant.  I don’t like to say it is the anniversary, like it is something to be celebrated each year, but it still is a significant date in my life that reminds me a little bit about my own mortality and what it means to be alive.  Life still needs to be lived.

To help me deal with the loss and memory of this moment, I took my day off to go to Catalina State Park in my RV and spent the day reading on a picnic table with my dog at my side.  The weather was absolutely beautiful!  The nights were so quiet and cool!

On Sunday, I was reminded of how we go on in life doing the little things that help us through moments that are so powerful...

The Council has just approved of the Constitution changes needed to catch up to the changes that were necessary for the ELCA model constitution and also made many changes that we needed to since  our congregation has been through many transitions over the years.  You can review these changes by requesting the revised constitution from the church office or calling Jenni to get a down-load copy. We will be reviewing the changes at a special Congregation Meeting in October.  Per Constitution, we need to allow you 30 days to review the changes before we vote to approve of the changes.  Contact anyone on Council for any questions you might have regarding specific changes. Council members: Dick Flones, Andy Anderson, Justin Templin, Craig Fennel, Robin Middleton-Port, Mark Mittelstadt, Mary Speidel and Bill Sisco.

Thank you Beautiful Savior for all the donations for Youth on their Own. Three large totes were filled and delivered to the Mini Mall last week. They were very appreciative and our donations will be used by the youth who are trying to finish high school under very difficult circumstances.

 We need people to devote one Sunday every eight weeks to teach in our Children's Corner. If you think you might be interested, but not quite ready to commit, please feel free to observe. We all value our young families, and they appreciate our work with their kids. There are many resources to help you succeed. Thanks!  Toby, Louise, Brenda, Mary, Lila, Judy (Our current CC Team )

Let’s support building our Academy’s library with books… especially faith-based ones.   How many of you have children’s books laying around your house that haven’t been looked at for years?  Let’s donate them to the Academy!  Thanks to all those who donated books!!

Guest Readers needed!  Would you like to read to our Academy students?  You can choose the book or our teachers will if you prefer. Guest readers are invited to read on Fridays.  If you are interested, please contact Becca Vorholzer (520-579-1453, BeccaV@beautifulsavior.net) or the church office to schedule a day and time.

Saturday, Sept. 20 - Bring in donations for the rummage sale to Werner Hall from 8am to 12:00pm. 

Sunday, Sept. 21—Noisy Offering If you have loose change in your purse or pockets, feel free to toss it into the cans that will be passed around during offering. This money goes to our Cup of Cold Water Fund.

Sunday, Sept. 21—Bible Study in the conference room after worship.

Monday-Thursday—Bring in your donations for the rummage sale, during office hours, 9am-3pm.

Tuesday, Sept. 23—Pint with a Pastor at 6:30pm. Come out to Catalina Brewing Company, grab a beverage of choice and settle in for good conversation about faith and life, led by Pastor Tony.

Wednesday, Sept. 24—Financial Procedures Workshop at 6:30pm in the Luther room.

Thursday, Sept. 25—Choir rehearsal at 7pm. Chancel Choir is in need of male singers (tenors and basses)! Anyone who is interested in singing is welcome to join and you don’t need to know how to read music. Email jameshiggs@beautifulsavior.net with any questions.

Saturday, Sept. 27—Rummage sale from 7am-2pm in Werner Hall.  Tell everyone to come and shop!
