The BibleLetter from Pastor Tony As a Pastor, I strive to lead people in stronger faith understanding and it starts with the Bible. I love teaching Bible studies…simple bible studies where we focus on each verse and line. I don’t think I ever have used a canned Bible study for any group as most of them are poorly written and fall into a more literal view of scripture. In the Lutheran Church, well, in the ELCA, we mainly teach the historical critical method in our theology with scripture. I love deep conversations in Genesis when the subject of creation comes up. Someone usually makes the comment that yes, “it reads that God made the universe in 6 days. But for God, a day might be a billion years.” Yes, but It’s still deeper than that. It’s still not what Genesis 1 is saying to us. We might also be talking about Noah’s ark... For more infomation visit:

Stewardship SundayBring in your blue 2026 Intent Cards this Sunday! “…do good and share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16 Sunday we turn in our commitment cards for our projected giving for next year. To be able to continue to carry out our congregation’s mission of serving our congregation, our community through our outreach programs, and providing a well maintained and functioning facility in which to meet, we need to increase our individual financial commitments to our church as many of our operating expenses are increasing. Thank you in advance for your commitment to Beautiful Savior. As of the end of the third week in October, the mission plan as revised earlier in the year with expenses reduced and projected offerings increased via a special appeal are tracking well with a positive surplus that should carry through for the remainder of the year. |

The donations will be collected in their classrooms and then brought to Chapel for blessings before donating them to the food bank. If you'd like to help our Academy kids, they are collecting the following items: Week 1: Cereal Week 2: Pasta noodles, canned pasta sauce (no glass jars please!) Week 3: Soup, meals in a can (Ravioli, Spaghetti-O's, chili, etc.) Week 4: Mac & Cheese Donation bin is in the narthex/gathering area. |

Outdoor Worship & church picnicEveryone is invited! - NEXT Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 10am Beautiful Savior is planning an outdoor service followed by a church picnic. Long-time members will recall the fun and fellowship we enjoyed at church picnics a few years ago. We have reserved the ramada and tables at Denny Dunn Park, just down the hill from the church at 4400 W Massingale Rd, Tucson. DIRECTIONS: Directly west down Massingale Road which runs alongside Beautiful Savior. Watch stop signs at Oldfather Road; cross traffic does not stop! Park in the park lot. If full, park on Rae Avenue across the street. There is no parking on Massingale. Click here to view a map. NOTE: There will only be one worship service at 10am on Sunday, Nov. 9th at the park, with NO worship service here at BSLC. Thanks to Garrett Bryant the worship from the park will be livestreamed, see the church website or email newsletter for the link. Bring your own camp chairs or blankets to sit on the ground. For those who don't have chairs the church will have a limited number available at the park. If you wish to drink something non-alcoholic other than water, please bring your own. The church will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, and water. We are asking members to bring side dishes and desserts to share in order to create a delicious Beautiful Savior potluck of food & goodies! Sign up on the sheets in the gathering area (email the office) to bring: A team of Mark Mittelstadt, Andy Anderson, Al Steichen, Don Swanson and Pete Pederson are working hard to make this a success. If you have suggestions please contact one of them. |
