Synod Assembly

Synod Assembly

Letter from Pastor Tony

Last week Sig and Toby Smitt and I attended the annual synod assembly in Las Vegas. Our synod is geographically broad, and to include all our members, we rotate our synod assemblies between the three urban areas that stretch across the breadth of our synod: Tucson, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.  This year we gathered in assembly at Community Lutheran Church in Vegas.

This year’s assembly theme, “Build Up the Body,” draws from Ephesians 4:12-13, which reminds us of our calling to equip one another for ministry and grow together in Christ. All the reports and programming floated around this theme of building up the body of Christ.

David Scherer of JUSTmove was our featured guest for the assembly. With years of experience in intercultural bridge building, personal growth, and artistic expression, David led us through a cohesive, spiritually rich experience. He taught us several liturgical dance moves as he talked about the diversity of the church....

Starting July 1st -A month-long food drive focused on the best thing to put between sliced bread:              PEANUT BUTTER!

The goal is to collect 10,000 jars of peanut butter for the ICS Food Bank. Faith communities and other groups can raise the stakes by entering the competition to see which organization brings in the most jars total and the most jars per capita. Bring your jars of peanut butter to the church and place them in the bin marked ICS or on the table under the TV in the gathering area.

Friday, July 11—Car pool to the Ignite Sign Art Museum in downtown Tucson. Meet at the church at 10:30am. Explore the Neon Sign Museum in Tucson, where neon signs buzz and glow . . . Ignite is one of the "must see" places in Tucson. You'll be sure to enjoy the stories the signs tell about Tucson's past. Walk the indoor Stravenue storefront displays and then our outdoor Argon Alley (sun umbrellas available).

Wednesdays, July 23, 30, Aug. 6, 13—Movies that Matter at 10am in the conference room. We will be watching Chariots of Fire, One Life, Luther, and one to be announced.

Saturday, July 26—Kid’s Half Day Music Camp at 10am-Noon in the conference rm.

Saturday, August 9—Car pool to the Rolling Thru Time Auto Museum in Tucson. Meet at the church at 12:30pm. The Rolling Thru Time Museum, nestled in the heart of Tucson, Arizona, has become a cherished institution for automotive enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Its history is a fascinating tale of passion, preservation, and community engagement. In 2024, the Rolling Thru Time Museum opened its doors to the public. The mission was clear: to educate visitors about the history of automobiles and their significance in American life while providing a platform for local clubs and historians to share their stories.

Sunday Worship

Sunday Worship

9am in person and livestreamed - Sunday, June 22, 2025

Welcome into our community today as we seek to follow the one who gathers us.
May you feel a connection to the beautiful Savior in worship this day! May you join us in learning and seeking to live in G.R.A.C.E. (Generosity, Reaching Out, Advocacy, Compassion, Encouragement).

We gather in the unity of Christ and are all invited to the Lord’s Table. He is the host —we are all guests. We celebrate that Jesus came to us and continues to come to us.  In faith we receive the body and blood of our Lord and Savior. We believe that he did this “for you.”

Join us in-person, on Facebook Live at Beautifulsaviortucson, and on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88641186563   Meeting ID: 886 4118 6563 and Passcode: 188820
