Evangelism

Evangelism

Letter from Pastor Tony

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. 2 He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go on your way… ( Luke 10: 1-3a)

This bible passage was the Gospel reading for last week and there was so many different directions I could have gone with this text in  my sermon.  I chose the “super hero” direction since it was the Fourth of July weekends and I wanted to point out that we all as Christ’s disciples are “heroes for Jesus.”

Another important direction I was thinking about going was the call to evangelism.  Evangelism literally means “to share the good news.”  We are talking about sharing the good news that the kingdom of God is here through Jesus Christ and that we because of His grace, we are forgiven!”   This is the community that you belong to… one who celebrates freedom and can see the kingdom of God through our actions...

Support flood response and recovery in Texas

Lutheran Disaster Relief

You’ve likely seen the devastating news about the catastrophic flash floods in South Central Texas. Our hearts break as we learn of the damage, loss of life and ongoing search for survivors.

We join Bishop Sue Briner’s call to “pray, pray, pray for those who are still lost as well as the families of those who are lost, who have died, or who have experienced loss of home or property.” As ever and with your support, our church stands ready to walk with our neighbors in the Texas hill country as the floodwaters recede and rebuilding begins....

Civic Engagement on HIV and related issues

Civic Engagement on HIV and related issues

Presentation on Monday, July 14, from 5:30-7:00pm.

TIHAN is excited about our upcoming session on civic engagement and helping people understand how to have their voices heard on the issue of HIV funding cuts and more. This is an important issue for all of TIHAN’s volunteers, donors, CarePartners, staff, faith communities, and partner agencies.  We are grateful that so many nonprofits and faith communities have joined as co-sponsors of this event.*

Please share this information with people in your circles who care about what’s going on.  Please note that this is a non-partisan event, and facilitators for this session include Dr. Alison Sutton-Ryan, Dr. Kevin Carmichael, and Pima County Supervisor Andrés Cano...

An RSVP to scott@tihan.org is required in order for admission.

Sunday Worship

Sunday Worship

9am in person and livestreamed - Sunday, July 13, 2025

Welcome into our community today as we seek to follow the one who gathers us.
May you feel a connection to the beautiful Savior in worship this day! May you join us in learning and seeking to live in G.R.A.C.E. (Generosity, Reaching Out, Advocacy, Compassion, Encouragement).

We gather in the unity of Christ and are all invited to the Lord’s Table. He is the host —we are all guests. We celebrate that Jesus came to us and continues to come to us.  In faith we receive the body and blood of our Lord and Savior. We believe that he did this “for you.”

Join us in-person, on Facebook Live at Beautifulsaviortucson, and on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88641186563   Meeting ID: 886 4118 6563 and Passcode: 188820
