Vision and MissionLetter from Pastor Tony This past weekend we had a few wonderful meetings where we celebrated the hard work of your leadership here at Beautiful Savior. First we had the quarterly congregational meeting where we approved an amended well BALANCED BUDGET! That in itself is fantastic! Then afterwards, the Transition Team and the Council got together and they needed to reflect upon the current mission statement of Beautiful Savior. We have completed it and we will be presenting you the new Mission Statement which simply states: Living in Grace, Love and Action. Our Vision statement is: To live in Generosity by Reaching out to all people; to be an Advocate to our community in the name of Jesus Christ; to show Compassion and offer Encouragement to God’s world. If you look carefully at the key words of this vision statement you can see that we did not abandon the acronym G.R.A.C.E. that we have implemented so much into our ministries…. Pray Without CeasingJoin the Movement - Wednesdays from 9am-Noon Join the Movement: Weekly Prayer Gatherings Beginning“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 Pray Without Ceasing. Here at Beautiful Savior we have joined this event. This will reoccur each Wednesday. This prayer event is a come and go event during that time frame. There will be prayer resources provided to help you through your prayer time. We invite you to come and be a part of this community prayer time. The purpose of this prayer effort is to follow Jesus’ call to love our neighbors and to pray for neighbors in need. We are working to practice “faith active in love” for all our neighbors, not to take partisan sides. Our prayer is that by Pentecost Sunday on June 8, several communities in our synod and in each participating synod will have begun gathering weekly to Pray without Ceasing. How amazing that over the weeks, this number will continue to grow and multiply! |
