God's work was evident in Beautiful Savior hands last Sunday.
In addition to displays and conversations showing how more than 30 BSLC ministries and programs serve the community and its needs, congregation members and children packed 365 bags with water, protein, fruit and snacks. The "manna bags" are given to unhoused individuals as well as others in need.
Congregation members are encouraged to take a bag or two to give to individuals on the street needing water and sustenance. The Cup of Cold Water ministry distributes them to homeless and to businesses on Ina Road to give to unhoused individuals looking for something to eat and drink.
On God's Work Our Hands Sunday, congregation members packed 261 bags. On Friday, children of the BSLC Academy packed 104 bags. They each took a bag to give to others needing help.
Our ability to provide manna bags was made possible by generous gifts of packs of tuna and other protein, fruit cups, snacks like crackers or energy bars, and financial support. It was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who participated!
