The scriptures tell us that John the Baptist went ahead of Jesus to prepare the way. "To Make paths straight".
He went out into the wilderness and cried out to the people, and they came. In his camel hair outfit, while eating locusts and wild honey, he baptized people in the muddy waters of the river known as the Jordan. From all around the area, they came to this man, to hear about God.
They made a straight path to him, to learn that God was making a straight path to us! What made you know that God was coming to you? Was with you? How have you helped others know that God was coming to them, was with them?
Who has been John the Baptist to you? Who have you been a John the Baptist to?
How might you be a voice in the wilderness of life pointing to the grace of love and God?
