NOTICE OF TWO SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETINGS ON DECEMBER 14, 2025

Dear Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church Members:  You are invited to attend two Special Congregational Meetings which will be held on Sunday, December 14th immediately following the church service.  These will be especially exciting and important meetings where we will be presenting our first non-deficit Mission Plan for 2026.  At the second meeting, a presentation will be made on how to significantly reduce electricity expense for BSLC.  The Finance Committee, Church Council, Academy Team and I have been diligently working together to develop the 2026 Mission Plan to balance our planned income with expenses.  The Church Council has approved the presentation of the plan.

As we budget for the future, there are some areas of increasing costs that cannot be controlled without taking bold steps in forward planning.  One of the most serious expenses is the undeniable and continuous rising cost of electricity for our multiple facilities and academy.  In just four years our monthly TEP bill has risen from $1,600 to almost $2,200 per month.  It is anticipated that in another five years, our bill will increase to almost $5,000.  One responsible suggestion is to install a solar system that will stabilize our electricity cost for at least twenty years.  For the past six months we have been attempting to acquire financing for this project at a competitive cost but were turned down due to our previous budget deficits, until now.  The Church Council unanimously voted to present this opportunity to the congregation for your review and approval.

SolarGain, a highly respected local solar provider, has submitted a bid to install a solar system that will immediately cut our energy costs by almost two-thirds, saving us at least $1,000 per month.  The purchase loan is being made available to us with no money down, an interest rate below the current prime, and a federal cash rebate of $61,000.  This will result in an influx of cash to BSLC that can be used as needed to: pay down the loan, complete many needed property repairs, and/or simply provide BSLC with an additional cash reserve as we move forward in 2026.  We hope that you will recognize and support this incredible opportunity.

Beautiful Savior has gone through many changes during the past few years:  new pastoral leadership, budget challenges, and numerous facility repairs.  Now we believe that the light at the end of the tunnel is no longer a train, but a beautiful sunrise for our church.  I look forward to your attending the meetings on December 14th to hear more detailed information about these plans.
