This Sunday’s choir anthem “In This Very Room” beautifully expresses the reassuring promise that Jesus is with us no matter where we are. Even in your kitchen, workplace, school, grocery store, doctor’s office – every “room” in your life is a place where there is enough love, joy, hope, and power to chase away any gloom because Jesus is in that very room with you.
Such a room was Dave and Suzy Shaffer’s living room where the choir gathered in May 2019 to sing this song for Suzy, who was, at that time, only weeks away from dying of breast cancer. That living room became a holy, sacred place where Jesus was the Comforter, Good Shepherd, and Prince of Peace to Suzy and to all of us.
We hope that the message of the song will become very real to you as you let the words and gentle melody speak to your heart for whatever “room” you are facing.
