The packing of nearly 500 manna bags a week ago is the latest wonderful news involving Beautiful Savior's GRACE Center. Some numbers and background from the past year provided by Andy Anderson, the congregation council's vice president, go-to man and overseer of the Center:
2,100+ manna bags distributed through Beautiful Savior, DES (Cup of Cold Water) and CAP
43 times toiletries/ clothes have been given out from church
28 times clothes have been donated to various agencies, including Marana Family Resource Center, Salvation Army, and Goodwill.
The GRACE Center supports the CAP through Northwest Fire and Golder Ranch Fire Departments, Pima County and Marana Police Departments, Youth on their Own, TiHan, Sister Jose, Interfaith Community Services, Marana Family Resource Center, Lot on 22nd Street and other organizations. The center also coordinates with the Medical Supply Corporation that provides medical devices for church members for use and for us to donate to them. We have also donated approximately 150 prescription glasses to the Veterans Administration in southern Tucson.
