Your love and compassion have made a profound impact on the lives of those in need. The people in the picture have bright smiles on their faces, thanks to you. They are grateful for your generosity and wish you happy holidays in their native languages. In the middle of the top row is our donor and Congregational Connector, Karen —thanks for making this Christmas card beautiful together with the people we serve. From the left, Jose, in a wheelchair, had an accident when he was only 25. He went through a tough time, as ever since his accident, he fully depends on people to help him on a daily basis. Now, he has 24/7 home care services because of you. He is so grateful for your support. Right behind him, there are two ladies from Ukraine, Anna and Kateryna. They had to run for their lives, leaving everything behind due to the war in Ukraine. Anna, in a white shirt, recalls that she heard the first bomb at 5 am. When she woke up to look through the window, the highway close to her place was already busy because everybody was trying to leave the country. She had a long journey to flee the country and eventually made it to the US. She shared that she is so grateful to be in a safe country now while she is helping other refugees with Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW).
Tiffany, 2nd on the right side in a black top, spent Christmas Eve 2022 in a U-HAUL truck, wondering where to go as her lease had ended, and she couldn't afford to renew it anymore. She miraculously got accepted at an LSS-SW shelter where she had good rest and nutritious meals while working on overcoming homelessness. Thanks to you, now she owns a home. You touched many more lives, and you are part of several success stories.
Thank you for your continuous generosity. Your impact lasts forever in their hearts.
