DID YOU KNOW…. The theme for this Easter’s worship service is “Grace Changes Everything.”
This year the Council approved to send out a few thousand of these large postcards to the neighborhood around the community of the church to invite our neighbors to worship on Easter morning. Be sure to invite your neighbors to come and witness the new life on Easter Morning!
The GRACE we receive on Easter morning means new life! This new life is what Easter is all about. That was purpose of the suffering Jesus went through and why he died for us. He died and suffered so that we may have a new life and be born again into a closer relationship with God knowing just how much Jesus wants us… enough to die because of us… to die for us. This is called a life of GRACE.
Easter puts a new face on an old way of life. It makes us think about how we live our lives. Throughout Lent, things can and have changed. Above all we can see a little clearer that God gives us hope and faith to overcome our doubts and our weaknesses.
Easter is not only about one man’s escape from the grave, but also about the victory of God’s love over the death-in-life experiences of our existence. And that comes to us through Jesus. Easter means that Jesus is not just remembered; he is experienced. We have Jesus, a God who is alive and with us! Jesus did it!
There is nothing more God can do. God wants us to know that we need only believe, joyfully and expect, to see the desires of our hearts manifested in our lives.
Our relationship with God is about God’s willingness, power and intention, that has done for us those things that we can not or will not do for ourselves. We now live in a state of Grace, through faith not faith through works.
So here we are… the Lord came to us again and said, “see this is how much I love you. Now go and let others know this of me. You are forgiven now would you follow me?” This is the mission God leaves with us. To share the suffering and the love. To share the resurrection and the new life we have in Jesus. We will see you on Easter morning!
Thanks be to God!
