"I believe; help my unbelief!"

The father's desperate cry to Jesus to help his son.

"I believe; help my unbelief!"

Our cry when we see horror and tragedy unfolding again and again in Gaza, school shootings, South Sudan, Ukraine, etc. etc. etc....

When we think of the enormity of some of the challenges facing so many and wondering what we can do.... "I believe; help my unbelief!"

It is a desperate cry, but it is an empowering cry.

It is the cry of faith. It starts with belief, and we simply ask God to strengthen it. Help us in whatever it is we are facing or dealing with.

It starts with knowing God is there, and hears- and that God responds.

On this "God's Work. Our Hands. Sunday"- it is our prayer. That as we seek to respond, we do so out of God's strength as we do God's work.

So, may we in faith engage the world with God's work, and may our prayer ever be for God to strengthen our work of faith.
