"Here am I, send me."
We heard that last week in the call of Isaiah, and this week in the call of Samuel. Here I am! God comes to you to call you to service and ministry. He makes straight paths. He searches and finds. God calls.
How do we respond? Do we look out and see the needs of the world and say, "Somebody better take care of that"? Do we realize that there are many who observe (and many who criticize), but do not act? How does that help?
God calls-
Here I am?
I wonder what the world would be like if more responded, less criticized (especially if they were busy at least trying to make a difference), and we gave ourselves (and others) grace to seek to find a way to let God's light shine?
On this special Sunday, we give thanks for one who said, "Here I am," and worked and worked and helped to bring about the amazing Academy ministry we have today. May we all answer God's call to respond to the world, for the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
