In his bio from the Grand Canyon Synod Newsletter, Dick says:
From my mid-twenties to now in my late seventies I have always been active in a Lutheran
congregation wherever I have lived. I am currently president of the council at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. I always felt that there was something missing in my background that could help me be more effective in the roles I have been called to do. I had a lack knowledge that about the church and my faith which I had never really been taught in my earlier years and as a child because I had this requirement to go through all the basic programs of the congregation although it was not necessarily something that I wanted to do.
I started the Diakonia program in 2016 because I finally realized that it was time that I should try to learn more
about what I was doing and about my church. What I have gained in these classes is just the tip of the iceberg.
Now I want to learn more and read more and apply it to the service I am providing to my community of faith.
Please congratulate Dick for his years of study and completing the Diakonia course!
