Dr. James Higgs has been named the winner of the 2024 Julius Herford Dissertation Prize for his Doctoral document "Terza Messa by Marianna Martines: Significance, Style, and Critical Edition." This award is granted by the American Choral Directors Association for the outstanding terminal research project in choral music. Dr. Higgs was nominated by Dr. Elizabeth Schauer, chair of his dissertation committee, and Dr. Lori Wiest, director of the School of Music.
