God's Work Our Hands 2016

God's Work Our Hands at Beautiful Savoir Lutheran 2016

A lot of service projects took place on Sept 11, 2016.

Fresh baked Toll House chocolate chip cookies were baked for First Responders to thank them for their service and for teachers at nearby schools to thank them for their dedication to our youth.

Cold water was distributed at street corners and shopping centers. Why cold water? It's Tucson and it's HOT! Water does a person good in this heat.

Toiletries were collected for clients at the Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network and Interfaith Community Services.

Gently used books were collected for Libraries, Ltd. This organization promotes literacy among children and teens by providing books for them to read.

Dinner was prepared for kids in SPLASH foster care homes. (SPLASH is Spirit Powered Love Aggressively Shaping Hearts). Along with dinner, we brought new games to play with the kids. These games were left at the homes for future fun.

Animal shaped pillows were stuffed for children at the Diamond Children's Medical Center. We also cut out fleece blankets and packaged them with color coordinated yarn for Jazmyn's Blanket of Hope, also in support of children at the Diamond center.

We also helped out the More Than a Bed organization which provides practical care to foster and adoption families.
