God's Work. Our Hands. - 2014

As a part of the ELCA national day of service, Beautiful Savior used its hands in a number of ways.

Seven people worked to bake 360 cookies that were taken to 4 fire stations, a Marana police substation, our Academy teachers, and the people at Payless Shoes who give so much for our Sunday Dollar$ program. The recipients at the firestations were thrilled to have cookies while watching football!

Ten people went to Diamond Childrens Medical Center where they deliverd 25 blankets from the Jazmyn's Blanket of Hope ministry. They gave two of them directly to children and the rest were given to the chaplains and social workers to use as needed.

Fifteen people hung bags with flyers in them to over 250 neighboring homes inviting them to give to the Interfaith Community Services Food Bank. The next week, we picked up over 250 pounds of donated food from about 10% of the homes.

The blended worship team lead worship that day. Our ushers, reader, assisting minister, nursery and communion assistants, and all of the othe helpers that make worship happen also added theirs hands to our day of service.

There were also those who helped with Lutherans Linger Longer fellowship time, worked around the church, and did countless other tasks that often go unnoticed.

Thank you to all who made "God's Work. Our Hands." Day a success!
