January 2021 Pastor Letter

Submitted by Office Manager on January 14, 2021 - 1:22pm

Happy New Year!

Is it? Has it?

What has changed? How have you changed?

For the date on the calendar was going to change regardless of anything we did, or did not do.  If you want things to actually be different, you need to be different.

So what will you do? Or stop doing?

Worship Gathering Update

Submitted by Office Manager on May 5, 2020 - 10:33am

We are constantly updating ourselves on the information coming from the CDC, Public Health, and the Grand Canyon Synod. This will help us plan a phased return to worship at church. Your church council and leadership is meeting every Monday evening to discuss how to do this best and to gather and share the information we receive.

What is the new life that is coming?

Lent is a time of preparation for baptism.

Easter is a time to live in that new life given to us by our resurrected Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Then Pentecost comes with the Holy Spirit and the call to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

March 2020 Pastor's letter

At the end of Academy Chapel, we ask the kids, “Where is God?”

We then lead the kids through a series of statements with motions. It reminds the kids that God is near and all around, as well as a good reminder of right and left and other things.

So, dear readers, without the script we use there, how would you answer the question, “Where is God?”

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching.  You may have noticed from the store displays.  The displays that replaced the Christmas displays after the sales.

You have a way to express love in a very real way starting in a couple weeks here at church.

We will kick off Heart2Heart.

Johnny Nash wrote the lyrics for this song released in 1972.
I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
(You probably have that tune in your head now. You’re welcome!)
Now that it is 2020, what can you see clearly now? What are you planning on doing based on what you hope to accomplish this 2020 year? What resolutions are you making to achieve those plans?
I have a few resolutions for our church family that I would like your help with achieving.

December 2019 Forty for Four

Submitted by Office Manager on November 27, 2019 - 2:10pm

We are coming to the halfway point of our "Forty For Four" Campaign. Over the two years it has redecorated the worship space with carpet, paint and tile; resealed the parking lot; replaced the tile roofs on the Academy; and helped pay for HVAC upgrades. Thank you to all for your generosity!

Forty ForwardIf you take a look around the campus, you will see more of the fruits of the Forty For Four Campaign! The tile roofs on the Academy Building are being replaced (one down- one to go), and the Parking Lot was resealed with more areas patched.
